SAP GUI for Windows, Release 7.70

The Integrated Enterprise System Office (IESO) made SAP GUI for Windows release 7.70 available on July 25, 2021.

What Agencies need to know:

Agencies using previous releases of the SAP GUI should upgrade to release 7.70 as soon as possible in order to ensure users are kept up to date with the most recent corrections and enhancements from SAP.

The IESO tested SAP GUI for Windows release 7.70 based on current Commonwealth enterprise standards. Supported Commonwealth enterprise standards can be viewed on the OA/OIT Policies and Procedures web site.

The full installation package for SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 is available on the SAP GUI page.

Agency End-User Impact:

Updated features and functions included in SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 include but are not limited to the following:

  • New visual theme Quartz is the successor to the Belize theme, includes dark mode, is designed for accessibiity, and continues to support Fiori features.
  • Placeholder characters are displayed in the password field.
  • Overflow for buttons in the footer of dialog boxes (popups). If needed, the footer of the dialog box displays a button “…” that offers a context menu containing all buttons for which not enough space was available.
  • Business Explorer (BEx) components are no longer available. BEx has been out of support since Commonwealth agencies upgraded from Office 2016 to newer versions. SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 will no longer include BEx components. BEx has been replaced with Analysis for Office (AO).
